The male average height of Chinese is shorter than Japanese and Koreans, Chinese netizens exclaimed: where is Yao Ming?

“The male average height of Chinese is shorter than Japanese and Koreans”, said by Wu Zhengxian, a Chinese NPC representative recently. He referenced the data from Wikipedia. In the world ranking, the male average height of Koreans is 1.733 meters, ranking in 18th; the male average height of Japanese is 1.707 meters, ranking in 29th; the male average height of Chinese is 1.697 meters, ranking in 32th.
After that, it caused hearted discussion among Chinese netizens. In fact, this data has several problems.
First, the time of comparison is unfair. Because the data of Chinese is from 2002, but the data of Japanese and Koreans is from 2011.
Second, the place of comparison is unfair. Generally speaking, people in high latitudes are higher than in low latitudes in Asia. China crosses 50 degrees from north to south. However, Japan crosses 15 degrees. So it is very difficult to calculate the average height. The comparison of average height should according to the same latitude.
Third, Japanese and Koreans like wearing elevator shoes. As far as I am concerned, the first elevator shoes were made by chamaripa boss in China. The brand of chamaripa elevator shoes in his company are sold around the world. I wonder why elevator shoes are less popular in China.

Of course, elevator shoes don’t really increase height. To increase height, exercise and balance diet are more important.
